GiGi's Krazy Kelly Twins with her!!!
I immediately was so disappointed in myself for not being there, and having the opportunity to say goodbye, but after some time had passed I realized that I got to be with her for almost 25 GREAT years and many people do not even meet their great grandmother, but let me tell you my GiGi was a special lady. She was the hostess with the mostess, and the most classy well put together GiGi I have ever seen. No she did not wear those ugly old people orthodics or dorky glasses. She was dressed to the nines even to go for her 3 mile walk or to help Pawpaw doctor a dog. So, now I hope that I can take a little bit of her strength, and character, and style and live by example just as she did.
I want to share with you the story that I told at her funeral. When Brook and I ("The Twins") as she called us, were about 3 years old and visiting my GiGi and PawPaw with our younger one year old cousin, Shannon, we wanted to go swimming. I went up to GiGi and asked "can we go swimming, GiGi?" She said, "Well sure I'll get you a pool." So GiGi went out to the barn and came back with a metal wash tub and filled it up with the garden hose, and the three of us stripped down to panties and diapers and went swimming. We had so much fun and there was a picture taken of the three of us in that wash tub, and my GiGi painted it later. That painting now hangs in our houses! She always made everything FUN, and always had that beautiful smile, but now she is in Heaven with her three Richards and having a good ole' time! She wants us to celebrate not mourn, and she deserved a celebration just as we did this weekend as we all came together as family to plan. Her phrase is, "Birds of a feather flock together." We are a fantastic family, because of her!!!!!!
Classy, just like her!!! We will miss you, but we will see each other again one day! It's not goodbye, it is see you later!
She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.
She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.
She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
"Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all."
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
Give her the reward she has earned,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
Proverbs 25-31
THANK YOU GiGi for the memories, WE LOVE YOU!!!!
